John Searson H.Dip. Psych., H. Dip. Supervision, M.I.A.C.P., is a fully accredited psychotherapist, counsellor and supervisor working in Dublin, Ireland. He started his professional career as a Graphic Artist and moved into Project Management. He was continuously climbing the corporate ladder. In 2008, John created a successful small graphic design studio. After many years of this work, he realized that his career was not offering him any fulfilment.
John Searson H.Dip. Psych., H.Dip. Supervision, M.I.A.C.P., has long had an interest in people and relationships. He was curious about the dynamics between people and what each of us brings to a relationship. He trained as a psychotherapist from the Institute of Creative Counselling and Psychotherapy, Dun Laoghaire. The institute is one of the longest established training organization for Psychotherapy and Counselling. It is fully accredited by the IAHIP, IACP and EAIP. John has also furthered his studies in working with adolescents, trauma, neuro-psychotherapy, sand play, complicated grief, child safety, self-harm behaviours and suicidology. John was awarded a Diploma in Supervision at Dublin Therapy and Counselling Center in 2016 and is accredited supervisor with the IACP and is currently sitting for a Masters in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy with PCI College and the University of Middlesex.
John works in his own private practice in Dundrum meeting clients with a wide range of challenges. He was also the Senior Psychotherapist with Pieta House from 2010 until April 2017 where he was working predominately with adolescents and was also head of training within the organisation. Pieta House is a non-profit organization which provides a specialized treatment programme for people who have suicidal ideas or who participate in self-harming behaviours.
He has a specific interest in the journey and challenges faced by adolescents.

John Searson is a psychotherapist who values the individuality of each client. He believes that relationship is the fundamental purpose of being. In therapy, the relationship is the catalyst that facilitates change, understanding and growth.
His experience and training includes working with a wide range of approaches and strategies. Yet, it is always in the relationship that the work is grounded. The approaches used in counselling and psychotherapy are always informed by the relationship.

- Currently studying for MSc Child and Adolescent Counselling & Psychotherapeutic Skills
- Diploma in Supervision at Dublin Therapy and Counselling Centre
- Fully accredited member of Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
- ASSIST Certificate (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training).
- Children First Certificate (HSE).
- Higher Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling (ICCP).
